1.    What is GRE and GMAT?

GRE stands for Graduate Record Examination and it is conducted by Educational Testing Service in the US. 5.     Exam Sections and Topics
The GRE exam paper constitutes of three parts, which are Analytical Writing, Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative Ability. The syllabus for GMAT is the same with an addition of Integrated Reasoning section.

The topics for both the exams are almost similar. This includes Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry and English grammar

Tips:-
If you are comfortable with the numbers game, you should opt for GMAT as it is generally believed that mathematics in GMAT exam is tougher than GRE. On the other hand, if you have prolific English skills, GRE exam is a lot easier exam to opt for. This will give you an idea on which topics you should focus for each of the exams.

6.     GRE or GMAT?
It completely depends on the college you are targeting and the course that you want to study. As some colleges prefer the GRE exam score while the other would want the GMAT score, it is always better to do a thorough research on colleges and the exams based on which they take admissions. 7.     Exam Attempts
The computer-based revised GRE test can be taken every 21 days. Generally, one can take the exam 5 times in a rolling 12-month period of 365 days.  The GMAT exam can be taken every 16 calendar days and no more than five times in a rolling 12-month period. 

8.     Preparation Challenges

Both the exams have its challenges. The Analytical reasoning test for GMAT and GRE is an interesting section. If you love the English language and know the intricacies of the same, you will enjoy the challenge posed by this section. It requires you to understand the context of the given statements and asks you to present your idea in a logical manner, supported by proper arguments.
The Quantitative Aptitude and Verbal Reasoning is of the CAT level for GMAT exam. The sectional called Integrated Reasoning is all about data. You have to use the analytical skills to pick out relevant information and get the answer right.


9.     How to prepare for GRE/GMAT?
Sharpen your skills in Mathematics and English. Take mock tests and practice. Read a lot of books for improving your English vocabulary and grammar. The exam time of GRE is 3 hours 45 minutes whereas GMAT exam has the time duration of 3 hours 30 minutes. You must prepare for the physical and the mental challenge for these exams. It takes a high level of concentration, speed and accuracy to ace the GRE and GMAT test.
